Chrome Extension v2

James Neufeld by James Neufeld

Since launching SAM, we’ve quickly learned that journalists are really great at finding content in random corners of the internet. While SAM provides a great unified search tool to help this process, our users still stumble on content outside of SAM. Our goal is making it easy to keep track of and manage UGC no matter how you find it. So, to help curate UGC wherever you might find it, we’ve rebuild and beefed up our Chrome Extension.

Now you can curate and tag UGC directly from social media sites and even from inside Tweetdeck (web). Here is what it looks like.

This will open up the SAM window where you can select which Story to add the Tweet. If you use Tags as part of your workflow (as most SAM users do), you can apply Tags to the Tweet before adding it to the Story.

The networks we support include Twitter (web), Youtube, Instagram and Facebook. As well as Google+, Flickr & Vimeo via the SAM icon in the address bar (top right).

We encourage all our SAM users to download the extension. It’s dead simple to use and hopefully adds assurance that you can capture important UGC whenever or wherever you come across it. Here’s where you can add it to your Chrome browser.
