April 2026 • Forward Look: Atlantic Hurricane Season 2026
The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30 and primarily impacts the US, Mexico and all Caribbean and Central American countries.
This year’s season is forecast to be somewhat below average, with fewer named storms and hurricanes expected. This outlook is largely driven by a forecast transition from weak La Niña conditions to El Niño, which typically suppresses storm development.
Even with fewer storms, disruption risk remains high. Rapid intensification, inland flooding, and changing impact patterns will force security teams to make fast decisions to minimize operational implications.
