Iran-Israel Conflict

Mar 2, 2026 • Iran–Israel Conflict & Regional Escalation

The United States and Israel have launched a coordinated airstrike campaign against Iran, targeting nuclear facilities, missile infrastructure, IRGC installations, and senior leadership sites. Iranian state media has confirmed the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iran responded within hours with large-scale missile and drone attacks against Israel and US military installations across the Gulf. Interceptions and debris triggered explosions and temporary airspace closures in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha, and Kuwait, causing widespread aviation disruption.

The conflict has quickly expanded beyond Iran and Israel. Hezbollah has escalated attacks from southern Lebanon, maritime disruption continues in the Strait of Hormuz, and missile and drone activity has affected multiple Gulf states. Protests and localized unrest near Western diplomatic facilities have also been reported.

While diplomatic efforts are underway, continued escalation across the region remains probable in the coming days, with ongoing risks to aviation, maritime transit, critical infrastructure, and civilian safety.
